Prometric runs the CNA exam in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and New York: a 60-question written test in 90 minutes and a skills test where you are scored on five skills, always including handwashing and indirect care.

How registration works

  1. Complete your state-approved training (or qualify through another route).
  2. Apply through the state’s process - a Prometric application in Florida and Louisiana, HHSC TULIP in Texas.
  3. Receive your Authorization to Test (ATT) and schedule.
  4. Bring your ATT and two signed IDs (one government photo ID) on test day.
